Review: Amistat Beach Hostel, Barcelona

Review: Amistat Beach Hostel, Barcelona

Barcelona! Who doesn’t love this crazy city of football, beaches, paella & Antoni Gaudi? Last time when we visited Barcelona, we loved it so much that we promised ourselves that we’d come back soon. This time, we spent 4 amazing days in Barcelona & stayed at Amistat Beach Hostel. Here’s a detailed review of the same.

Location

Amistat Beach Hostel, as the name suggests, is located quite near to the beach. Its only 7 mins walking from the beach. Famous attractions of Barcelona like Gothic Quarter & La Sagrada Familia are located just few metro stations away. The nearest metro station Poblenou is just 5 mins from the hostel itself.

Around the hostel, there are many nice bars, cafes, restaurants & supermarkets as well. Poblenou is a wonderful area. Quiet yet full of life. Check out Rambla del Poblenou at night to get some cheap & amazing dinner.

Staff of Amistat Beach Hostel

We found very few hostels where we could give the staff 10/10 because not every staff member is as friendly & fun. But Amistat Beach Hostel is different. Every staff member we met was amazing. Everyone was helpful, smiling & ready to help. We also had dinner with few staff members. 😀

Room Quality

Room Quality

We stayed in a 12-bed dorm at Amistat Beach Hostel but it didn’t feel like it because it was quite spacious. Every bed had its own reading light, a plug (I wish there were more plugs though). The bed was just perfect with clean bed sheets & soft pillow. There are individual lockers for each bed as well so no need to worry about staying in a 12-bed dorm.

Kitchen Quality

Kitchen Quality

Ah! One of the best things about Amistat Beach Hostel is definitely their kitchen. It Is big, it is open & almost everything is just around the burners. They also give FREE PASTA! ♥ The kitchen has enough of utensils, plates etc. even if 8 people cook together. There are vending machines in case you need something urgently (eg: Tomato Puree or Parmesan Shaving or Milk or Cold Beverage). The breakfast is a basic spread & it is tasty. You can eat some amazing yogurts at the breakfast (YUM)!

They also make community dinner, so make sure you put your name on the board for it to taste the most authentic Catalonian dishes.

Amenities

The Wi-Fi at Amistat Beach Hostel is good. They have Nintendo Wii & PS4 as well. Its a great way to pass your time or to befriend a stranger over a friendly (heh) game of FIFA 18. They have a laundry machine as well. Toilets & Bathrooms are in abundance in the hostel & they are squeaky clean. If you are into music, you can also mix your tunes at their turntable. For free walking tours & paid tours, check their reception because they keep having some amazing deals.

Overall

Amistat Beach Hostel is a great choice to stay during your trip to Barcelona. Just make sure that you book it well in advance since Barcelona (and especially Amistat Beach Hostel) stays usually full all around the year.
