Snowy van in Kiruna
I visited Kiruna in November, 2015. When I reached there, the temperature was -4 degrees.
There is a free bus service between Kiruna train station & city center.
Scene from the hotel reception
From our hostel, most of the roads were accessible on foot. I clicked following pictures when I went out for grocery shopping.
The best thing about Europe is that people will handout maps to you when you ask them about any location. The woman at my hostel reception showed me the way to the supermarket & gave me a map.
Maps of Kirunaa
The supermarket was not very far. But everything was so snowy (and in slow motion) that it felt like it was faaaaaar.

Much of Kiruna is very symmetrical. This town is very small & pretty.
Symmetrical streets Sweden
This picture was taken exactly outside the supermarket. This pink cabin was a small cafe serving people black coffee. Because of its pink colour, it stood out brightly.
shops in Sweden
There were hardly any cars on the main road. There were some taxis running, filled with tourists though.
Very few people go to Kiruna every year. Mainly because not many know about this town. But if you want to see the real snowy life, you must stay here.
Streets of sweden
This looks like the same picture, but it isn't!
Another snowy street of Kiruna
There are direct flight connections between Kiruna & Stockholm every day.
There are 2 daily trains between Narvik (Norway) & Kiruna as well
Signboard in snow
Compared to other towns, there are few hostels, hotels in Kiruna. And they are expensive, so plan accordingly.
