Hostel Pere Tarres is a decent hostel of Barcelona. It is a huge space located strategically for travellers.
Hostel Pere Tarres definitely enjoys a good location. Barcelona Sants train station is just a km away (10 mins walking) & the hop-on hop-off bus stop is simply 500 m away from the hostel.
This is where I didn’t like Hostel Pere Tarres much. We stayed here for 2 nights, then went out in the other hostel since they were full. We came back for 1 more night & requested an early check-in because our friend wasn’t feeling well. Their staff members had one response – Go to the hostpital, we wont allow an early check-in. This was even after they had a room empty.
Even their kitchen staff looked grumpy all the time & wasn’t very helpful.
We stayed in an 8-bed dorm. Dorm’s size was decently big with a shared bathroom. There were personal lockers for everyone plus some space to store a large bag.
Beds were pretty comfortable. They provided bed sheets, pillow covers but didn’t provide blankets. It was cold in the room but their response was – “All blankets are with laundry people. We don’t have blankets!”
I liked Hostel Pere Tarres’s kitchen. It’s huge, with a lot of seating area, 2 separate cooking stations & many utensils.
They also offer free breakfast with your stay. The breakfast is decent enough to get you going.
There are no extra amenities really. You can sleep in their dorm, cook in their kitchen or eat in the dining room & that’s about it. WiFi is very good though!
If you are looking for a budget hostel near Barcelona Sants train station, Hostel Pere Tarres is a good choice. It is not the best hostel (because of their staff & lack of amenities) so keep looking for more options.
