5 Must Try Water Sports At Club Med Kani Maldives

5 Must Try Water Sports At Club Med Kani Maldives

I like vacations where I’m relaxing, enjoying the luxuries of a particular place. However, I LOVE vacations where I get to try newer adventure sports & activities. Basically, I’m lazy when I’m in Mumbai but I get super-active once I’m on a vacation.

Club Med Kani Maldives was definitely the best decision EVER! It was everything good – The location, the staff, spacious and beautiful rooms, splendid beach, lip-smacking food (Yes, even for vegetarians like me). But for me, the best thing about Club Med Kani Maldives was its wide range of adventure sports & activities that it offers!

Being my enthusiastic self, I wasted no time and jumped to try my luck at the water sports activities at Club Med Kani Maldives.

It’s always a good time for new adventures at Club Med!

Sailing

Sailing at Club Med Kani Maldives

I admit that before the trip, I had already gone through Club Med’s website to see the activities. Sailing was the activity I was most excited for and I must say that it didn’t disappoint me one bit.

If Sailing is an art, then Leonardo da Vinci of Sailing taught me the activity. The instructor took an hour long course & taught me theory & practical lessons. I didn’t learn A to Z of Sailing but it was enough to enjoy the activity during my stay.

Fortunately, I can swim, which was the only criteria to be qualified for getting trained for sailing. . Honestly, I hadn’t imagined that I’d be able to do this in an hour’s coaching. In fact,

I even went sailing solo on the second day and it only added up to my enthusiasm and my confidence. Club Med Kani Maldives had the perfect fleet of sailing boats & it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life

Kayaking

Kayaking at Club Med Kani Maldives

Kayaking was something I had earlier tried once in Split, Croatia.

Read about that experience here.

At Club Med Kani Maldives, I had the confidence to go kayaking by myself and I took two turns at it. Once I went kayaking with Parampara in 2-people kayak & once I went in a single-person kayak. My experience in both kayaks was wonderful.

The sea around the property is perfect to go for kayaking. Also, Club Med has a patrolling team to keep the guests out on adventures safe.

We don’t encounter activities like kayaking on a regular basis. So doing it again, without any help surely adds to your interest and assurance in these activities.

Club Med Kani also organizes races & around the island in kayak trips on specific days of the week. If you are interested in those activities, check with the counter.

Paddleboarding

This was one activity where I sucked. They tried teaching me but I failed miserably. How miserable was I you ask? In 5 minutes, I fell 4 times.

But nevertheless, I even enjoyed the experience of failing at it! You can’t excel in everything at once, but the thrill of trying something for the first time, especially an adventure sport has its own thrill! Paddleboarding is an interesting sport for sure, but yeah I do need some more (lot more) training to learn it.

Snorkeling Around Club Med Kani Maldives

Club Med Kani

Walk by the shore at Club Med Kani and you will see how calm and clear the water is! In fact, it’s the most noticeable and key element at Club Med Kani that enables you to try out adventures in water. You could walk into waist deep water and find colorful fishes around you! You don’t even need to know how to swim (though that’s always an add-on).

If you are scared of water but still interested in snorkeling, this is the perfect place to start. All you need is a swimming goggles or a snorkeling mask. If you haven’t got these items with you, worry not. Club Med has a shop where you can buy these items (and many other things) at very reasonable rates.

You can go in waist-deep water (directly from your room since all rooms are beach facing! 😉 ). Once you are there, put your goggles on, hold your breath & go underwater. A whole new world awaits you, not too far away! It’s beautiful, peaceful and exciting especially if you appreciate the marine life. Spending some hours doing this on a daily basis during your stay is totally normal. Once you are ready to experience more of marine life, go for snorkeling in deeper water with Club Med Kani Maldives’ specialist staff.

Scuba Diving

Scuba Diving

How can we miss Scuba Diving while talking about a beautiful beach destination like Maldives? Scuba Diving is the must-do activity when you are Club Med Kani Maldives. The prime reason for the same is the crystal clear water and the diversity in Marine life. Many professional divers will recommend scuba diving in Maldives to be one of the best!

There are very reasonable packages for Scuba Diving & they take you to some of the most beautiful, diverse underwater locations. Fun fact: You can go Scuba Diving with a Marine Biologist at the resort.

Additionally, there were also water sports that I couldn’t really try like surfing, water jet skiing, etc. that are available for guests at the resort at additional costs.

But from what I could do, I can easily say that water sports in Maldives are one of the top reasons why you should be visiting this tropical island country. And if you’re at Club Med Kani, you’ve only gotten lucky with the availability of variety and an excellent training spot!

Which water sport would top your list at Club Med Kani?
